They help to straighten things out and get your mouth back on track. Just because you are in need of braces, doesn’t mean you stop caring for your teeth. Below are some tis on how to care for your teeth, while you are stuck with the braces.

1) You can still brush your teeth. Make sure you get everywhere. Do this for about two or three minutes.

2) When you floss, push it down under the wires. The floss should come in between the brackets. Get every tooth, even those hard-to-reach back teeth. You might also want to try using a small wire brush. This brush can get into places you couldn’t get with regular brushing.

3) Use mouthwash. This you should do whether you have braces or not. The mouthwash will get in between the teeth. It will rinse out all of the places you couldn’t get to.

4) At night, always wear your headgear. It might appear unattractive, but your mouth will thank you for it later.

5) Stick to soft foods, at first. This is a good way to take care of your teeth. Let your mouth get used to the braces first.
